Alpha Phi Omega – Alpha Kappa Chapter
Description: Alpha Phi Omega, or APO, is a national community service fraternity, derived from the Boy scouts of America, and reflects this and it’s goals in its official purpose: to assemble college students in a national service fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Scout Law of the Boy Scouts of America; to develop leadership, to promote friendship, and to provide service to humanity; and to further freedom that is our national, educational, and intellectual heritage. We conduct rush events and pledging periods every semester. All students are welcome to apply.

Blacks in Action
Description: Blacks In Action (BIA) was established at USC in the fall of 2003 for students with the desire to serve their local African-American communities. It is a volunteer organization that stresses unity, teamwork and dedication through service in three main areas: health and medicine, educational and youth outreach, and social and environmental development. Past events have included the Los Angeles AIDS Walk, USC campus tours, gift baskets for the homeless, food and sock/blanket drive, high school weekend retreat, middle school basketball tournament, hip-hop poetry night and a talent showcase. BIA is currently conducting a fundraising campaign for its first scholarship award to an incoming USC freshman dedicated to community service.

Save Our Selves (SOS)
Description: Save Our Selves (SOS) is a student run organization established in the Fall of 2006 at the University of Southern California. Recognizing we face a state of emergency, SOS provides bi-monthly forums that bring awareness to the issues threatening the community. By coming together to collectively combine intellect and experience, we seek to discover practical, everyday steps we ALL can take to combat these issues and help Save Our Selves. We operate around our 5 Areas of Concern: Education, Health, Violence and Crime, Community, and Economic Empowerment; and take a PROACTIVE approach to issues plaguing our Community to effect social change.
